Senior Developer (SAS) / Data Validation
Work Location – Remote, (DHS treats remote network access as a privilege rather than a contractual guarantee, allowing work at assigned or other designated locations).
Security Clearance - U.S. Citizenship Required; Ability to complete DHS suitability, background investigation, and Entry-on-Duty requirements.
Experience Metric - 7+ Years of Web and Core Data-Analysis or Data-Engineering Experience.

Objective Summary
We are seeking an enterprise Senior Developer (SAS) / Data Validation expert to perform production data validation supporting high-visibility statistical reporting frameworks. This critical development role focuses heavily on maintaining data integrity across daily, weekly, and monthly statistical outputs before distribution to senior federal stakeholders. The ideal candidate must possess an extensive professional chronology demonstrating roughly 7+ years of data analysis or engineering work. This timeline should showcase deep, recent hands-on technical programming mastery within secured federal data architectures.
This expert will run sophisticated diagnostic validation routines to verify row counts, profile variables, treat sensitive data, and confirm cross-report metric consistency.
Mandatory Compliance Metrics
Candidates must satisfy these strict gates to ensure a successful Government onboarding determination:
- must explicitly reflect 7+ years of total data engineering or data analysis experience with verified history executing complex database routines.
- Clear and extensive recent experience coding with SAS programming languages, SAS DATA step processing, and specialized PROC SQL scripting.
- Must accept a flexible production posture capable of supporting a seven-day-per-week operational reporting environment, including staggered schedules, holiday coverage, or weekend windows.
- Perform daily data validation scripts to guarantee data quality and structural integrity across multiple federal reporting channels.
- Execute meticulous row count and record-count reconciliation routines to pinpoint structural anomalies or missing data segments.
- Lead data profiling and field validation efforts to track variable distributions and identify unexpected categorical values.
- Ensure strict compliance with data handling mandates by confirming that personal privacy and PII variables are hidden during active profiling.
- Review and cross-check materialized view tables to eliminate data discrepancy and maintain perfect consistency across distinct reporting assets.
- Conduct automated source-to-target reconciliation protocols to map administrative statistics cleanly into target databases.
- Create repeatable validation routines, compile error exception logs, and carefully document validation results to ensure complete audit readiness.
- Expert level SAS programming architecture including SAS DATA step structures and advanced SAS macro configuration.
- Complete mastery of relational database languages utilizing advanced PROC SQL and equivalent SQL methodologies.
- Functional familiarity operating within enterprise database environments such as Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL architectures.
- Practical familiarity analyzing large federal administrative datasets using BI tool visualizations or Tableau embedding patterns.
- Comprehensive mastery handling highly restricted datasets while safeguarding PII and SPII under federal privacy definitions.
- Direct experience operating within federal statistical program standards, data governance boundaries, and secure infrastructure environments.
- Knowledge of federal reporting deliverables including automated reconciliation flows and rigorous quality control checking policies.
- Direct experience writing automated exception reporting layers for large scale federal law enforcement or administrative statistics programs.
- Prior domain background navigating large data pipelines managed by DHS, CBP, ICE, USCIS, Census, DOJ, or HHS.
- Deep technical familiarity parsing complex immigration trends, border security workflows, or localized healthcare and benefit dataset arrays.
