Role: Systems and Network Specialist – Located in or able to support Sembach, Germany
This is a location-sensitive role. Germany-local candidates will be considered first, then Europe-based candidates willing to support Sembach, then U.S.-based candidates only if they are willing and eligible for a Germany assignment.
Role:
The Systems and Network Specialist provides computer systems maintenance and repair; maintains servers, software systems, and networks; diagnoses hardware, software, firmware, network problems; configures and upgrades network connection devices and automation equipment; performs system design for TRICARE Area Office-Europe systems and components; maintains desktop, network, and communications hardware/software; analyzes LAN/WAN operations; troubleshoots LAN/WAN issues; coordinates with host-network and agency support staff; supports standard workstation configurations; provides onsite help desk support; and supports telephones, VTC, and related telecommunications systems.
Must-have Requirements:
- Located in or able to support Sembach, Germany.
- DoD 8570.01 / 8570.01-M compliance at IAM Level II or equivalent.
- Security+ and CCNA or equivalent network architecture certification.
- Bachelor’s degree or related technical training in computer science, engineering, or information management; or five years of related experience and technical certification.
- High-level experience with Microsoft Windows Server and desktop environments.
- Experience with UNIX and OpenVMS.
- Direct experience with TCP/IP, HTTP, HTTPS, SNMP, DNS, DHCP, RSTP, VRRP, BIND, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.1d, 802.1q, 802.1w, 802.3, 802.11, 802.3u, and 802.3z.
- Experience with synchronous and asynchronous communications, Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, and DoD/DHA communications media.
- Experience with OTDR, cable testers, network sniffers, and EIA/TIA cable standards is desired.
- Proficiency in Windows networks, Cisco Systems, and Orion SolarWinds.
- ADP sensitivity determination may be required.
